How to Upload a File

  1. Navigate to Documents from the main sidebar.

  2. Browse the directory tree on the left to select the folder where you want to store your file. This can be a system-generated folder (e.g., one tied to a specific asset) or a custom folder you created.

  3. Click the Upload button in the top-right area of the file view.

  4. Select one or more files from your device.

  5. Once the upload completes, your file will appear in the selected folder and is ready to preview, download, or share.

Supported File Types

You can upload most common file formats, including PDFs, images (PNG, JPG), spreadsheets (XLSX, CSV), and Word documents (DOCX). If you are unsure whether a format is supported, try uploading it -- Findex will let you know if there is an issue.

Where Should I Upload My File?

  • Asset-specific documents (e.g., a share certificate for a stock holding) are best placed inside the system folder that Findex automatically creates for that asset.

  • General documents (e.g., a personal tax summary) can go into a custom folder you create yourself.

  • You can always move or reorganize files later by navigating the directory tree.

Tips

  • Upload files as soon as you receive them so your document library stays up to date.

  • Use descriptive file names before uploading (e.g., Apartment_Deed_2025.pdf rather than scan001.pdf) to make searching easier later.

• If you need to share a document with a stakeholder, upload it first, then use the sharing options within Findex.
