How to Delete Assets

If you've sold an investment, added something by mistake, or simply want to clean up your portfolio, you can delete assets from Findex.

Last updated About 1 month ago

Deleting a Single Asset

  1. Go to Portfolio > Investments.

  2. Find the asset you want to remove.

  3. Right-click on the asset (or click the action menu).

  4. Select Delete.

  5. Confirm the deletion when prompted.

The asset will be removed from your portfolio, and your dashboard, net worth, and diversification will update automatically.

Deleting Multiple Assets

If you need to remove several assets at once:

  1. Go to Portfolio > Investments.

  2. Click the select mode button at the top of the list.

  3. Check the boxes next to the assets you want to delete.

  4. Click the Delete button.

  5. Confirm the bulk deletion.

What Happens When You Delete

  • The asset is permanently removed from your portfolio.

  • Your portfolio value, net worth, and diversification are recalculated.

  • Any documents attached to the asset will also be removed.

  • If the asset was imported from a provider, deleting it in Findex does not affect your actual bank or brokerage account.

Tips

  • Double-check before deleting β€” Deletion is permanent. Make sure you're removing the right asset.

  • Sold an investment? You might want to update its value to the sale price and keep it for historical records rather than deleting it entirely.

  • Provider imports β€” If you delete a provider-imported asset and the provider connection is still active, the asset may reappear on the next sync. To prevent this, disconnect the provider first in Settings > Providers & Integrations.
