How to Connect Accounts with Providers
This guide will walk you through the process of connecting your external accounts to automatically sync and track your assets and liabilities in Findex.

Getting Started
You can connect accounts from either the Assets or Liabilities section:
Navigate to the Portfolio section in the left sidebar
Click on either Assets or Liabilities depending on what you want to sync (it does not however matter which page you decide to start from as all is retrieved at once.)
Click the blue "+ Add Asset" or "+ Add Liability" button in the top right corner that is available on the respective page.
Choosing Automatic Connection
When the modal window appears:
Select "Connect Account" under the "Add Assets/Liabilities Automatically" section
This will take you to the provider selection screen
Selecting Your Provider
Browse through the list of available financial institutions and providers
Select your bank or financial provider from the list
Click on the provider to begin the authentication process
Authentication Process
You'll be redirected to authenticate using your provider's security method (e.g., Swedish BankID)
Log in with your credentials as you normally would
Grant Findex permission to access your account information
Important Security Notes:
Findex only has read-only access to your accounts
We cannot perform any transactions on your behalf
You can revoke access at any time through your Findex settings
Your data is encrypted and secure
Selecting Assets and Liabilities to Track
Once authenticated, you'll see all available items from your connected provider:
Review the list of discovered assets and liabilities, which may include:
Listed equities
Pension accounts
Savings accounts
Loans and mortgages
Credit card balances
Other investment products
Select which items you want to track in your Findex portfolio
You can choose all items or select specific ones
Completing the Connection
Review your selections
Click Save to add the selected items to your portfolio
The connected assets and liabilities will immediately appear in your respective lists
Automatic Updates
Once connected:
Values are automatically tracked and updated multiple times throughout the day
Updates continue as long as the connection session remains active
Session duration varies by provider:
Some banks allow connections lasting weeks
Others require reconnection after a few days for security reasons
Maintaining Connections
When a session expires, Findex will notify you to reconnect
Reconnecting is simple - just repeat the authentication process
When you reconnect, Findex will:
Update all previously connected assets and liabilities
Fetch any new items from your accounts
Maintain your historical data
Managing Connected Accounts
You can manage your connections at any time:
View all connected providers in your settings
Disconnect providers if needed
Add new providers as your financial situation changes
Tips
Connect all your financial accounts for a complete net worth overview
Check periodically for new providers added to Findex
Set up notifications for when connections need to be renewed
Regular syncing ensures your portfolio data stays current
